- Tim Cook and green bubbles: Christine is an Android user and her iPhone friends talk about “green bubbles” but she didn’t know it was a problem until now. Christine’s text bubbles come in all different colors and even tell her who’s “talking” when she’s in a group. But now she’s learned that her iPhone-using friends secretly hate her green bubbles. It’s Day 2 of the Y Combinator-vaganza, which means we’ve got loads of news for you. Assuming the news comes in buckets, but that’s a conversation for another day.
Tage reports that YC’s latest batch slashes startup presence in Africa by more than halfand Anna, Alex and Tage are curious where Y Combinator is looking for startups in 2022. 5 Metrics Series A Investors Look for in Development Tool Startups
The average Series A for developer tools companies fell to $47.5 million in the third quarter of 2022, “the lowest since early 2021,” wrote Rak Garg, principal at Bain Capital.
After meeting with hundreds of companies since the start of the crisis, Garg has written a fundraising guide for early-stage founders hoping to reach the next level.
“I’ve noticed a common characteristic among founders who have raised successful Series A rounds: they’re great at telling their companies’ stories,” says Garg.
