Florida High School Football Star Charged as Adult in Double Shooting Case , Dillard (Fla.) defensive end Tarell Green has been charged as an adult in a double shooting that occurred over Memorial Day weekend in Fort Lauderdale, according to a report by Marissa Bagg on NBC6.
Baggs’ report states that surveillance video shows Green shooting one of the victims after she turned away from him, then shooting the second victim while he was riding his bicycle. Green, 16, will be charged as an adult, with battery and unlawful possession of a firearm.
“Green was taken into custody shortly after the shooting and faces charges, including two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and one count of possession of a firearm by a minor.”
The teenager’s defensive line coach, Darrell Strong, stood by Green, insisting that he must have acted in self-defense.
Green was scheduled to play at Plantation High School (Florida) this upcoming season. He has offers from over 10 varsity teams, including AlabamaGeorgia, Miami and Texas A&M.
