Trinity tops Center Grove in double OT to end the Trojans' 30-game winning streak

The Center Grove Trojans (IN) are undefeated since November 30, 2019, spanning two seasons and 30 games.

But the impressive streak ended Friday night at the hands of another perennial power, the Trinity Shamrocks (Ky.), a team no stranger to the Super 25 rankings.

And the game lived up to expectations, providing the kind of sideline drama fans would expect between two top-tier programs.

Neither team’s lead was ever more than five points, and by the end of the fourth quarter it was tied 15-15.

Overtime would decide at Marshall Stadium.

And what an overtime it was – check this: What a double overtime it was… back and forth it finally came down to one of the boldest calls in football: going in for two and winning instead of kicking the tying PAT.

It’s a tough loss for the No. 1 ranked team in Indiana, but the tough game showed why the team is getting the recognition it rightfully deserves – and will continue to do so.

For the Shamrocks, it’s an excellent bounce back from their tough loss last week against Archbishop Moeller (Ohio).
