USA TODAY Super 25 Scores, Recap: Top remains dominant, St. Francis has clear win over DeSoto

Mater Dei left no doubt that last week’s Vegas win over Bishop Gorman wasn’t a fluke in Sin City, as the Monarchs dealt with in-state foe — and Super 25 team — Centennial (Corona) last Friday.

This was one of the few Super 25 games that will shake things up in Week 2.

Meanwhile, St. John Bosco made his case to stay in the the top two teams in the Super 25 rankingseliminating Bishop Amat (California) — a solid follow-up to the first win against Allen (Texas).

Elsewhere, Florida teams maintained a course of football dominance, with IMG leading the charge and rebounding in a big way from last week’s stunning loss to Central (Miami, Fla.).

But the biggest fireworks of the week on the gridiron came courtesy of St. Francis (Md.) Academy, which went to the Lone Star State and knocked off No. 24 DeSoto, sending a message to the high school football landscape: Look. Out!

As we prepare for the next edition of the USA TODAY Sports Super 25 rankings, here is the complete scoreboard for Week 1’s top teams.
