Three sisters from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School (Mass.) made history earlier this month when they became the first three sisters to hit a home run in the same game, according to a story by Sabrina Silva at WHDH Boston.
Abby, Isabelle and Lizzie Bettencourt hit it off together in a game against rival Bishop Fenwick (Mass.). Their coach Tawny Palmieri called it an incredible accomplishment, according to WHDH.
“For a family to hit three home runs from all three sisters is a pretty incredible feat…I guess it’s in their blood or something, right?”
The team’s middle sister and pitcher, Abby Betancourt, said it was the first time they could play on a team together. She also said WBZ News Radio they are each other’s best friends.
“Our track record shows that it takes a tight-knit community to win games. We come here and train, we’re always with each other, we’re best friends.”
It’s all up and running for the Bettencourt sisters of Peabody. All three play on the high school softball team and hit a home run in a recent game. I talked to them about the achievement, stay tuned @wbznewsradio to hear more! 🥎 @PeabodyAth26709 pic.twitter.com/dHjfykEwyq
