Cameron Seldon signed with Tennessee during the early signing period on Dec 21, 2022.
The 6-foot-2, 220-pound wide receiver is from Northumberland High School in Heathsville, Virginia. He played several positions in high school, including quarterback, wide receiver, running back, cornerback, safety and kickoff and punt returner.
Seldon will provide flexibility to Tennessee’s offense.
Vols offensive coordinator Joey Halzle discussed Seldon before Tennessee’s spring practice.
“It gives you a chance to do some really fun things,” Halzell said of Selden. “Obviously with a young person who’s in the building for the first time, you have to be careful not to bog someone down and overwhelm them with everything you can do. First you have to make him good at one thing.
“When he’s done starting, as we go through our pre-spring stuff before we hit the field for spring ball, we’ll make that decision more definitively as we move based on what he can do, what he does well, what does not do well. Then, once he’s got one thing cemented — well, he’s really good at it — now you can start growing a guy like these are additional roles. Really anything they can handle, starting at a young age and continuing through his time through the program.”
