Chaos is the operative factor in the recruiting world this week as yet another blue-chip quarterback flipped on his commitment. On Monday, Montgomery Bell (Tenn.) Academy senior Marcel Reed. waived by Ole Miss.
Hours later, Reid announced he had committed to Texas A&M.

Reed (6-foot-1, 175 pounds) is a four-star recruit who is ranked No. 18 as a defenseman and a total of 297 in the class of 2023. He there were 20 other submissions to choose from, including nearly every other school in the SEC.
As a passer, Reid completed his senior season with 2,198 yards, a 58.8% completion percentage, 27 touchdowns, six interceptions and a 113.7 QB percentage. Reed is also an outstanding rushing threat. On the ground, he recorded another 944 yards and 15 touchdowns on 146 carries (6.5 yards per attempt).
It’s a significant acquisition for the Aggies, who have suffered a string of cancellations in recent weeks — mostly No. 1 linebacker Anthony Hillwhich is now committed to Texas.
With the addition of Reed, Texas A&M is now ranked 17th in the nation in the 2023 recruiting cycle. Meanwhile, Ole Miss has dropped to No. 27.
