Possible Shark Attack on 18-Year-Old Baseball Star from Louisiana
Cameron Robbins, a baseball star at Louisiana, had just graduated high school and was preparing to attend LSU in the fall. To celebrate, he went on a sunset cruise in the Bahamas on a cruise ship called Blackbeard’s Revenge, where another passenger apparently challenged him to jump overboard.
According to art account from Inside Edition, Robbins jumped. When the boat’s crew threw a life jacket to him, Robbins reportedly swam away from it and disappeared moments later. This led to speculation that a shark may have attacked the teenager.
“A life jacket was thrown into the water after he jumped from the ship but he swam away from it. And the next moment he was gone. There is speculation that Cameron may have tried to get away from a shark after video captured a shadowy image in the water. A shark sighting may also explain why the Louisiana teenager simply disappeared into the water.
Robbins’ teammates and friends held a vigil for him in Baton Rouge.
