The scouting report on Thomas of On3 notes his confidence as well as his ability to find the right balance between aggressiveness and patience.
“Dedan Thomas is a confident, intoxicating lead guard. He plays with excellent pace, knowing when to press and when to back off. Nothing presses on him, he’s smooth. Size is a question mark, both strength and height. He is a player you trust with the ball in his hands. Solid athlete, quick rather than hot-tempered…”
On film, Thomas looks like a nightmare to guard one-on-one, showing superb ball-handling skills and a rare power attack down the left.
