Auburn earned its first commitment of the 2023 recruiting cycle as a four-star guard, Aden Holloway from Prolific Prep in California.
Holloway chose Auburn on Monday night Tennessee. He also received offers from Wake Forest, Miami and Virginia Tech.
Jamie Shaw, National Recruitment Analyst at On3, says this Holloway is slightly smaller at 6-1. But what he lacks in height, he makes up for in courtly intelligence.
Aden Holloway is a fearless point guard. He is very crafty with the ball, can get to his spots off the bounce and can create space to fire his shot. While Holloway doesn’t have optimal measurables and is an average athlete, his skills and confidence help him produce. Size will be questionable, and any coach who takes him will have to settle for a smaller guard. He has a tendency to over dribble and can be questioned defensively. He has been consistently very good for La Porte (IN) LaLumiere School this season, against top-level competition.
Looking at the rest of Auburn’s 2023 recruiting board, Bruce Pearl is expected to land the commitments of two big men for the class, Jordan Butler and Assan Diop, according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine.
2023 top-40 prospect Aden Holloway has committed to Auburn, he said @On3Recruits.
“I chose Auburn because of coach Bruce Pearl and the program.”
